This piece was done almost entirely with just a Mini Moog and a Mellotron (I may have used a Roland Jupiter 8 soundbank in there too). Gentle soloing and understated melodies layered on top of meandering, arpeggiated rhythms and a simple chord structure that sounds more complex than it is. Sounds somewhat like Tangerine Dream's "White Eagle", but very "TD" throughout. Very hallucinatory, I would add, if you like chilling out with spacey music on headphones and your favourite inebriation.
More Mini Moog mayhem, this time with a more upbeat, 80's-inspired sound.
Usually every track I create starts off with what I'd call "musical doodling", where I simply experiment with different ideas and see what comes out of it (sometimes nothing). The final song title is usually always changed from what the working title was when the song was still being developed...however in this case I didn't change it...and I'm just not sure why (perhaps I couldn't find anything better).
This is a dancey groove; I'm not sure who it sounds like.
This takes a while to develop, winding slowly through several themes until reaching the main theme at 6:24. Nice, downtempo, chillout aural bliss.
Heavy influence from Tangerine Dream circa 1980-1981 can be heard here. Not much to say about this track, except perhaps that I find it very mind-expanding.
With Jungle Philosophy I have attempted to seamlessly (?) blend ambient, electronica and progressive rock into a single track that contains some really nice melodies and is at times haunting, rocking and just plain weird. I really don't know how else to describe this track, or how it came to be...other than a few spliffs were indeed harmed in the making of this track.
This was also the final track done entirely in Ottawa...I relocated to Victoria (a homecoming!) shortly after completing this.
